Ask and You Shall Receive

My amazement that George Zuver could afford to purchase a large monument when practically destitute amazed my cousin also. He did a bit of digging and found the answer that would inspire even more questions.

In 1903 at the age of 83, George E Zuver was an agent for the Monumental Bronze Company. George placed advertisements in the Titusville newspaper.

This of course then opens up the question, was this paid for at a discount or given as a sample to display. The advertisement reads that the agent would have samples, you would assume that would just be the panels where the death information would be placed.

A customer no longer has to use their imagination when the cemetery is your actual display. I wonder how monument business was for George and how long he was an agent. In the 1910 Census George was living with his son Georgein Venango county Pennsylvania and had listed himself as a farmer.
